Vision & Purposes
ICA’s vision is to support the interest of its members with regards to the manufacturing and use of cellulose and cellulose derivatives in food and feedstuffs, pharmaceutical products, personal care as well as in other industrial applications.
In order to fulfil this vision, ICA embarks upon several initiatives:
- To highlight the safety of cellulose and cellulose derivatives.
- To support a favourable regulatory landscape for cellulose and cellulose derivatives worldwide as well as to educate on the benefits of cellulose and cellulose derivatives.
ICA activities include to:
- Provide information to members on official rules and regulations concerning cellulose and cellulose derivatives at international level.
- Share knowledge and educate on the science behind the safety of cellulose and cellulose derivatives.
- Coordinate and commission analytical and toxicological research work, particularly with a view to continue demonstrating the safety of cellulose and cellulose derivatives for human health.
- Support the evaluation and related activities of cellulose and cellulose derivatives for their use in foodstuffs, pharmaceutical products, feedstuffs, personal care as well as in other industrial applications.
- Implement education activities to promote the benefits of cellulose and cellulose derivatives
- Establish positions and statements to address questions arising from different audiences and stakeholders on cellulose and cellulose derivatives.
